Okay, so I’m a bit early! Welcome to November. It’s election day in the U.S., and the holidays are right around the corner. In addition, most of us will be MORE THAN happy to see 2020 come to an end. So, let's start thinking about 2021!

Despite COVID and the challenges it has brought, 2020 has been an exciting year for Ficere Writing Solutions. We have seen our business double from 2019 by helping many more people bring their stories to life. Will you be one of those we talk about in 2021 and beyond?
During this past year, we have worked with a variety of different clients.
Phyllis Phelps and I met on LinkedIn, and after learning a bit about her story, I asked my favorite question: “Have you considered writing a book?” It turns out she had but didn’t know how to get started or what the process involved. After some discussion, we began working on her terrific story of pain, abuse, faith, and victory. Her book, “Weathering the Storm,” was published this past July. The book has been well received, and we have plans to turn it into an audiobook in 2021.
Norm DeVarennes was another LinkedIn connection I got to know by commenting on the blogs he was posting. Norm is retired from the prestigious Royal Canadian Mounted Police and had been diagnosed with PTSD from his years of service in the RCMP. As I commented on his blogs and we began talking, he mentioned he had started compiling them into a book but was stuck. My team and I were able to help him turn his blogs into a book titled “Invisible Wounds.” Due to be published in 2021, it is currently available as an e-book.
I met Eugene Jones through a mutual LinkedIn connection and was immediately impressed with his integrity and professional accomplishments. Gene has run some of the nation’s top housing authorities, helping turn their agencies around and provide quality, affordable housing to thousands of people in need. His team wanted a book introducing him to the nation and laying out his plans to tackle America’s housing crisis. “Housing Humans,”
Published in October, lays out Gene’s vision to revamp public housing nationwide.
Desiree Martinez is a social media marketing wizard who came to me with a challenge. She wanted to write a book in six weeks and publish it in time for Social Media Day in late June. We went to work. Desiree locked herself in seclusion and began writing her story while I edited each chapter as she wrote. Her book, “Innovation from Desperation,” was published in June, right on schedule. The book helps solidify Desiree as an expert in her field as she continues building her social media clientele.
All of these clients had wonderful stories to tell, and each one was at a different point in their process. Some of them needed help writing their stories, while others wanted someone to come along and help them better craft their story through the editing process.
